    A financially empowering book?

The Women's Conference has featured many best-selling authors like Suze Orman and David Bach, who write about being smarter with your finances. Have your read a book recently that has empowered you to take charge of your financial situation?

The Money in You by Julie Stav - it made me understand the we manage our money by our financial personality (so I know I know I'm not crazy! lol) - she introduces us to five different financial personality types to help us forecast our financial future.

Also, she shows us how to establish healthy relationships with the people who are affected by our financial decisions, and who affect us with theirs. Loved it! I currently downloaded from iTunes and I keep listening.

    Re: A financially empowering book?

I wrote a book which was published two years ago, and at that time I predicted the economic recession. However, I didn't merely bring doom and gloom but also much hope. I have spent over 15 years seeking answers and practical solutions for the problems which I knew were about to happen.

My book "AlterQuest - The Alternative Quest for Answers!" has a myriad of methods and systems which are being used very successfully in communities all over the world. Two examples which help make economies better in communities are the Ithaca Hours local money scheme and the LETS barter system. This book is about choice. We have the choice to stay as we are... and accept our fate or we can change and become a progressive society on a progressive planet! I know which I chose!
What I did in this book was to find any solutions which others had already used, to make life better in their localities - then I put all this knowledge into one book. I did this because the only way to move forward on this planet is to work as one civilization and not to continue utilizing the same flawed economic ideologies and detrimental systems. My life's work it to empower all women, men and children and give them ways to survive comfortably on this planet, but these must be ways which are beneficial to all and must have a spiritual basis for caring and sharing.

There are many ways to move forward in the 21st century but these will involve a new way of thinking and acting - and this means implementing a fair and just system for all mankind and not just a few!
