How has The Women's Conference empowered your life?

Please share your experiences at The Women's Conference if you have attended any during the past four years. Also, if you haven't been at the conference in person, have you been empowered by any speaker or content that The Women's Conference has shared?

Re: How has The Women's Conference empowered your life?

I have had the good fortune of securing tickets for the past 4 years. Each and every time I have gone home feeling better about myself and my life as a whole. I leave knowing that even in my darkest time there is a 'woman' out there in the world doing things to benefit everyday people. My only regret is that I did not find out about this conference years ago when I tried to make a difference in my community.

As far as the Village Night and the conference itself, no one forces anyone to purchase or participate in anything they chose not to. Let's try not to taint this fantastic event for all newcomers and returnees!

I love this conference and I want to invite every woman and every sister ( I have 4) to become a part of this every year! It has empowered me by reminding me every year, through the presentations of every speaker that we can make a difference on a small or a large scale. As daunting as life can get being a woman in business and a single mom, we can balance it all in the end. I leave that forum every year feeling richer in knowldege, in support and it just makes me feel good. Everyone who attends is just "good people"!
We are all there for a common goal that is sliced into a million different motivations. And we leave it feeling better about ourselves.

I don't know that it has. It is an interesting though frenetic day with a lot of privileged women, sort of a groupie celeb day. The women that need empowerment can't afford the price. And Jennifer Lopez, pleeeeze. Someone empower her to get her act together and be an example of stability, which we need more than anything. What we also need is the quiet place away to think and perhaps pray, not another fatuous child and another crowd. Hey, it's my answer, you have yours.

Just knowing that they're a bunch of women out there supporting each other empowers me to try a new project I've been putting off. I had intended to attend but forgot so in honor of We Empower Women to be Architects of Change I'm going to drag out this story I've been avoiding and I'm going to tackle it today!

Just the fact that 13,000+ empowering and empowered women were going to be present in downtown Long Beach inspired me to collaborate with machinima movie maker LucindaMcNary.com to showcase the "Ladies of Linden."

These women have businesses just a few blocks away from LB's Convention Ctr on Linden Avenue. Access this street via Ocean Boulevard.

I attended NIGHT AT THE VILLAGE before attending the launch of LongBeachOnline.com at The Pike. It was a wonderful event!

As an entrepreneur with limited funds I was unable to attend the event in person...and I'm grateful that they have casted it for free! The message of empowerment is very powerful...and has helped me to continue to move forward with my mission of helping moms across the US.

    Thank you!

Re: How has The Women's Conference empowered your life?

As I sat in my office, preparing for a keynote address on Friday, I listened to the unbelievably empowering speech from Maria, as it streamed across my desk. I have always loved her honesty and authenticity, with her words resonating deeply with challenges I've faced (breast cancer, public speaking, etc.). I heard her brilliant speech, and suddenly started "comparing" how inadequate my talk will be in comparison to hers. And just in time, I then heard her comparing herself with other speakers at her friend's funeral, feeling inadequate before she spoke. She encouraged me (us) to just be ourselves and not compare. The voices having a conversation in my head are/were much like hers. Thank you, Maria, for empowering me and helping me walk through my fear. You are a gem and such a gift for women. I just love you! And the story about your mom and the hospital bed, made me weep. Not many women get that opportunity. Thank you for sharing. Thank you.
